Brew News

January 2023

In this newsletter we want to reflect a little on what it means to be a small start-up business.

If you’re in the Meadery you will definitely see us because we have and continue to invest our whole hearts and all our time in growing NCMC. We love making high quality beverages that are unique and special

Top Taps of 2022

Butterbrew

Butterbrew is one of our classics, and inspires so many fun combinations. Recently one of our favorite regulars brought in Butterbrew cake, with homemade chocolate frosting, just because. It was fabulous.

Watermelon Lime Cider

One of the stars of the summer, this cider was well balanced, light and very refreshing.

Nectarine Mead

A current favorite is Nectarine Mead and it is divine when mixed with a little Butterbrew.

Blackcurrant Cider

Popular, tart, and deliciously juicy, our Blackcurrant Cider was a definite crowd-pleaser.

As one customer put it recently “there is something spiritual about bees and the mead is magical.” We bee-lieve this And the same could be said about apples

Tap Room Hours Changing

We will be closed on Thursdays moving forward. We need to devote this time to production. Still open Friday and Saturday 12:00-8:00 and Sunday 12:00-6:00. In the coming year we plan to have more offerings pre-packaged in bottles or cans. Our bottles have been popular.

Holiday Cheers

We have had several messages and conversations with folks telling stories about gifting or sharing meads and ciders with family and friends over the holidays at gatherings or even toasting in the new year.

We also raise our glasses to wish everyone peace and prosperity in 2023

More things to celebrate

We enjoyed folks coming out in their ugly Christmas sweaters. We had a small bee themed tree (which honestly I could leave up all year around) and some time chillin’ with the gnomies.

We had a fabulous night of delicious tri tip with our friends at Backwoods BBQ.

We are hoping to source some new varietal honeys and bring some exciting new flavor profiles that are sure to delight the senses

We are looking forward to the rerun of our Pear Habanero Cider as pear season allows

Coming up in Comstock Magazine

Comstock magazine is featuring Nevada County Mead Company in the February edition in the “off the beaten path” section. It’s a Sacramento based magazine and also available on line. Keep an eye out for that!

Always reaching for the stars

We look to the future with great anticipation and hope. We are hometown, grass roots, and we love our community.

People often bring us ideas about what we could or should do at the Meadery and we would love to do all of it. We are excited for our next steps in 2023 and we will be producing more and continuing to grow.
